Abstrak

The ability to read the Qur'an is a fundamental competency for students, yet challenges such as inaccurate makharijul huruf and tajwid persist. This study aims to identify the strategies implemented by Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers to improve the Qur'an reading skills of seventh-grade students at MTs Al Mizan Bogor, alongside analyzing the supporting factors, inhibiting factors, and the strategy's outcomes. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. The participants included a PAI teacher, the school principal, and seventh-grade students. Data were collected using direct observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation instruments. Furthermore, data analysis was conducted using Miles and Huberman's model, comprising data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the teacher's strategies encompass pre-learning habituation, the application of talaqqi and drill methods, individual guidance for struggling students, and continuous motivation. Supporting factors include teacher competence and adequate facilities, while inhibiting factors involve varied basic student abilities and limited instructional time. Consequently, the applied strategies effectively enhanced the students' reading fluency, pronunciation accuracy, and tajwid comprehension.
