Hubungan Lingkungan Pesantren dengan Karakter Disiplin Santri di Pondok Pesantren Modern Al-Yasmin Kampus Putri Sindangbarang Bogor

This study examines the relationship between the Islamic boarding school environment and students’ disciplinary character at Pondok Pesantren Modern Al-Yasmin Kampus Putri Sindang Barang, Bogor using a quantitative correlational design. The population consisted of 60 female students, all of whom were selected as respondents through a total sampling technique. Data were collected using a closed-ended questionnaire based on a five-point Likert scale, and the research instrument was tested for validity and reliability prior to data collection. The results showed that 13 items for each variable were valid, with Cronbach’s Alpha values of 0.853 for the Islamic boarding school environment variable and 0.890 for the students’ disciplinary character variable. Data were analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics 26 through normality, linearity, and Pearson Product-Moment correlation tests. The findings indicated that the data were normally distributed and showed a linear relationship, while the correlation analysis revealed a coefficient of 0.699 with a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a strong, positive, and significant relationship between the Islamic boarding school environment and students’ disciplinary character. In addition, the coefficient of determination (R² = 0.489) indicates that 48.9% of students’ disciplinary character is influenced by the Islamic boarding school environment, while 51.1% is affected by other factors outside the study. These findings suggest that a conducive Islamic boarding school environment, supported by religious habituation, supervision, social interaction, and role modeling, plays an important role in strengthening students’ disciplinary character; therefore, improving the quality of the Islamic boarding school environment should be a strategic priority in character education within Islamic educational institutions.
